Tim Boyle helps Yvonne Strahovski to be Hollywood’s next big thing
From Australia’s Daily Telegraph:

IT WORKED for Sam Worthington, now a movie from local director Tim Boyle has been the stepping stone for a new Aussie star shining in Hollywood.“It may seem like I have this golden touch but I’m just really fortunate to work with some great people,” Boyle said, bashfully.
While Boyle’s low-budget flick The Plex is casting for votes in the upcoming AFIs, its leading lady Yvonne Strahovski has a cast-iron grip on the title of hot new thing on American TV today.
Just days after finishing filming on Boyle’s flick, the former Maroubra gal set her sights on Tinseltown and scored a role on new comedy Chuck being hailed as a hit new US series.
While the Nine Network has secured rights to the NBC favourite, the 26-year-old has been a favourite on the talk-show circuit, landing a spot on the sofa next to David Letterman. Strahovski has spread her wings since, with feature film The Canyon in the can.
Her rapid rise has come at a cost to her private life. She has since split from her Plex co-star Matt Doran. Yesterday Boyle was singing the singleton’s praises as “smart, beautiful and creative”.
“I always thought Yvonne had amazing comic timing, which is really rare to find,” he told Joel Christie yesterday.
Boyle is no stranger to spotting stars in the making, after casting Worthington in his 2005 film The Fink.
Worthington will next appear in director James Cameron’s highly anticipated sci-fi epic Avatar.
