More on Yvonne Strahovski’s Role in MY MOTHER’S CURSE
We got our hands on the script for Yvonne’s new movie, My Mother’s Curse, and read up on her role. The film itself is a road trip movie featuring a mother (Joyce, played by Barbra Streisand) and son (Andy, played by Seth Rogan). Yvonne plays Jessica, Andy’s high school sweetheart who he encounters during the trip when his car breaks down in Nashville.
Andy and Jessica dated while they were in high school together in New Jersey, but when he got down on one knee and proposed at age 18, she said no because they were too young. After that, Andy went to California for college and never contacted her again. Eight years after the breakup, she’s married and living in Nashville, a “full-on Southern belle”, with one baby already and another on the way. Her husband, Rob, looks an awful lot like Andy, and as the evening progresses, it becomes obvious that Jessica was serious when she said youth was her only objection to marrying Andy.
Yvonne’s role is brief but pivotal, and it sounds like she’ll have a chance to trot out a Southern accent and possibly a New Jersey accent as well. And for those Chuck fans who wanted to see Sarah with a baby bump, this might be the next best thing.
My Mother’s Curse is filming now with an expected release date of March 30, 2012.
